THE SMITHS - The Queen Is Dead
Very Happy I've been trying for the past few days now to win a copy of that on vinyl on eBay with no luck. Smiths fans are pretty brutal when it comes to collecting stuff. I spent like 3 days furiously battling it out with some guy on one copy, until it finally got too rich for my blood and I had to give up and let him have it.

I found a copy of Canibus' single "Second Round KO" today in a thrift store for 99 cents. If it had been a full length album for the same price, I probably would have shit myself right there in the middle of the store. Still, I was pretty happy to pick that up.

Sweet fucking haul though. Atma on vinyl would have to sound fucking monolithic.

Here's where I got it, if any of you want it bad enough. Razz This is probably the cheapest I've seen it:

I only buy a album in double LP format if i really really think it's a special package. I find 2LP's bulky and a bit annoying.

^ Yes, that's something I've learned since I started buying vinyl. I really like the presentation of a double LP, but changing the record twice and flipping it twice really disrupts the whole listening experience. I once saw a Motorhead re-release of "Ace of Spades" and was tempted to get it, until I saw it was 3 LPs...imagine what a pain that must be. Neutral Also, because of all the difficulty I seem to have with getting my records back in their sleeves, I've started either tucking them inside the gatefold covers, or keeping them in plastic sleeves with the cover. I imagine this is better for the covers and keeps seams from splitting, as long as you're careful with the vinyl.

Now that I'm actually really getting into this, I realize the only thing keeping me from investing in records/a turntable system was money. There was really no way this couldn't be something I enjoyed. I love getting limited edition stuff, I love keeping my prized possessions neat and tidy...I've probably cleaned and/or dusted the few records I have so far nearly every day, even if I'm not playing them. Laughing The whole level of care with vinyl plays into all my interests. Although I must admit I'm glad I did wait until I had a decent amount of money saved up, I really couldn't have afforded this with my last job. I'm already thinking of upgrading my amplifier/speakers some day in the distant future...

Also, speaking of that site, here's another point of interest for you guys: http://www.invinylwetrust.com/Neurosis_Enemy_of_the_Sun_2xLP_180_Gram_p/rr68625.htm They also have "Souls at Zero," and "Live at Roadburn," but I'm not the biggest Neurosis fan, so I wasn't interested. Still, all of these routinely go for $30-$40 on eBay, so it might be a good deal if you're looking for them.

I guess this counts as a music purchase. Yesterday I found a copy of the Coheed and Cambria DVD "Live at the Starland Ballroom" at a thrift store for less than $3. Very Happy

Judecca - Scenes of an Obscure Death EP
Judecca - Beyond, What the Eyes Can't See
Hellvetron - Death Scroll of Seven Hells and It's Infernal Majesties LP

The site I bought this from says the Judecca CDs are first pressing and still sealed (!) so I'll probably just resell them, if this is the case. They were a gigantic bargain considering what they can go for on eBay/Discogs. I've seen them for up to $80 each, I spent about $22 total. So if anyone wants some Judecca... Laughing

Heather, don't Jew people on Judecca. Plus the prices are going down a lot because tons of deadstock was found. So while they may be listed for 80 bucks, they rarely sell for that price anymore.

Holy fuck, where have you been? And I was never planning on ripping people off...just asking for slightly more than what I paid for them, in order to essentially make my entire order free (basically, sort of like trading those two CDs for the copy of Hellvetron I ordered). But I still don't even have them yet and the longer time goes by, the more I think I'm just going to keep them. I like Judecca anyway and at least one of those albums was something I'd been meaning to get for myself for a while.

I forget if I mentioned this before (and am too lazy to check...fuck it, it's my thread anyway), but I ordered the Morrissey 7" "Suedehead/I Know Very Well How I Got my Name" single a while ago and it finally showed up. Hearing Morrissey on vinyl almost makes me think getting that Smiths vinyl boxset that came out a while ago would be worth the hundreds of dollars it goes for. Sounds so good.

Oh, I will surely regret this tomorrow morning, but I got a pretty sweet haul just now, if I do say so myself.

Anaal Nathrakh - When Fire Rains Down from the Sky, Mankind Will Reap as It Has Sown EP
Anaal Nathrakh - Eschaton CD
Anaal Nathrakh - Total Fucking Necro digipak (reissue)
Anaal Nathrakh - The Codex Necro LP (black and orange splatter)
Anaal Nathrakh - Passion LP (clear)

Decided to go ahead and complete my AN collection to the best of my ability at the moment. Some of this was ordered through FETO records directly, which was a little pricey with shipping, but a couple of them are exclusive to the site, so it works out. Besides, most AN stuff seems to only be available through UK distros anyway. I already have Codex Necro on CD but it's arguably my favorite AN release and the vinyl looks sweet so I had to rebuy it. Not much to do now but rebuy other things on vinyl/cassette (or in the case of Passion, the CD version), if I really want to be a hardcore completionist.

HOLOCROSS - S/T LP ($20)
DISMEMBER - Like An Everflowing Stream LP ($25)
ICED EARTH - S/T CD [$8]

^ Upon first glance, I really thought that was a butt plug.

Also, Leanne: Nice job with the Baphomet disc. That's a band that honestly really doesn't do anything revolutionary, but it plays really solid, meat-and-potatoes death metal and that really hits the spot when I'm in the mood for such a thing. I came across the LP of a Banished album (Baphomet's changed name) once and really should have picked it up, it had some amazing cover art and equally solid old-school DM.

Went out today for some dumb stuff and decided to stop by the mall and pick up the new Kreator album, since I've heard a little of it and was actually (surprisingly) loving it. Ended up with:

Kreator - Phantom Antichrist
Aborted - Global Flatline
Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity
Napalm Death - Utilitarian
Coheed and Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade (used...I now own every C+C full length except the newest one)

This always seems to happen to me. Laughing

EDIT: I took a picture because I found it funny that 3 of these 5 all had greenish/sepia-ish cover art. Maybe 4 of 5, if you count half of the Kreator album being sepia-ish.

Very Happy I'm pretty pleased with my past hauls, but this takes the cake so far when it comes to classics. Got them at the CD Exchange again, and they were all six dollars except for Morbid Angel and Emperor! Shocked (top left is kinda blurry, but it's KATATONIA - Brave Yester Days)
